In the year that the Brazilian Hernia Congress is not being held, we would like to offer our colleagues in Brazil and Latin America a comprehensive event covering all the techniques used in the day-to-day practice of general surgeons specializing in abdominal wall surgery, so that they can deliver better outcomes for their patients and resolve the vast majority of cases referred to them. Hernia and gallbladder surgeries are the procedures we perform most frequently as general surgeons. Unlike gallbladder surgeries, performing hernia surgery requires mastery of various techniques—ranging from the simplest inguinal hernias to larger and recurrent inguinal hernias, and from common incisional hernias to the opportunity to repair diastasis recti using minimally invasive surgery. This symposium will provide you—a general surgeon working in any hospital—with what you need to perform more and better surgeries on less complex abdominal hernias, as well as to recognize which cases should be referred to a specialist, so that your patients can achieve the best possible outcomes.
