IMMERSION IN

BIPORTAL ENDOSCOPIC SURGERY - NARROW CHANNEL

May 16, 2026

It is with great pleasure that we present the Biportal Endoscopic Surgery – Narrow Canal Immersion Course, which will be held on May 16, 2026, at the Scolla – Surgical Training Center, in Curitiba.

This course has been carefully structured to provide an intensive and highly practical training experience in the latest techniques in endoscopic spine surgery. The program consists of online theoretical classes, which allow participants to prepare in advance, followed by an in-person module with a strong emphasis on hands-on training.

During the immersion, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills in the Biportal Endoscopic Technique (BET) and the Advanced Interlaminar Endoscopic Technique, with an emphasis on “over the top” central decompression. The course also directly addresses the Tips & Tricks (TICS & TRIPS) — essential strategies and technical details for greater safety, efficiency, and reproducibility of the procedures.

The practical session will be conducted using live animal models (pigs), providing an experience that closely mimics real-world surgical conditions. With a structure organized into practical stations, a low student-to-instructor ratio, and a high volume of individual practice, each participant will have the opportunity to fully perform the technical steps under direct supervision.

Our goal is to provide an immersive, safe, and high-quality learning environment that enables surgeons to develop technical proficiency, confidence, and precision in minimally invasive endoscopic approaches to the spine.

We look forward to your participation in yet another outstanding edition.

Methodology

  • Lectures: Live, online lectures will be held over the course of 3 days, and participants will also have flexible access to the course materials.
  • Intensive Hands-On Classes: Over the course of 3 days, students will participate in hands-on classes that include:
  • Live surgeries, providing a direct view of the techniques in real time.
  • "Semi-live" sessions, where procedures are demonstrated and analyzed in detail.
  • Practical training on live models and the use of anatomical specimens to simulate procedures.
  • Training in procedures conducted using realistic simulators, enabling in-depth and safe learning.
